Three Selected in 2025 OHL Priority Selection Draft

The 2025 OHL Priority Selection marked a significant milestone for the Buffalo Jr. Sabres program, with three of its standout players being drafted into the Ontario Hockey League. This achievement underlines the organization's commitment to developing top-tier hockey talent in Western New York.

The OHL Priority Selection Draft took place over the course of two days, April 11th-12th.  Jr. Sabres 15 Only team members Sawyer Schmidt (Saginaw), Solomon Wolf (Erie) and Norman Greene (Sudbury) were among the 303 players selected.

Sawyer Schmidt

“We really like Sawyer’s puck skills and his transition in the neutral zone. He’s able to find those seams and is very smooth and deceptive with his skating. It’s very powerful so he gets on defensemen quickly. He doesn’t give the puck away and wants to make plays.” - Geoff Beauparlant, Saginaw Eastern US Scout

Solomon Wolf
“Solomon is a big, lengthy, right-shot defenseman who is mobile. He possesses good skating ability, which helps him escape the forecheck and transition pucks up ice quickly. Solomon uses positive attributes to his advantage and we are thrilled to welcome him.” – Devin Brown, Erie Director of Scouting

Norman Greene

“Norman has excellent hands and quick feet. He anticipates the play well and has a solid offensive skill set. He comes to every game prepared to play at an extremely high level.” - Mike Taylor, Sudbury Head Scout

“It was a pleasure to have Sawyer, Solomon and Norman in our program this season”, Jr. Sabres President, Patrick Kaleta said. “Each brought something different to the table, which was vital to the teams overall success. We are very proud of each of them for being selected.”
